Shabrovski talc deposit and the factory are situated 27 km to the south of Ekaterinburg. Quarrying was begun in 1931 (see photo)
At present JSC "Shabrovski Group of Talcmines" is the biggest producer of talc production for all industries of the Russian Federation and CIS countries. All our products are made by crushing talc flotated concentrates and talc magnesites of Shabrovski deposit which we own.
Talc is a magnesium hydrous silicate (3 MgO 4 SiO2 H2O; MgO - 31.74%; 4SiO2 - 63.5%; H2O - 4.8%), its hardness according to the Moos scale is 1 (the softest mineral), its relative density is 2,7 - 2,8, it has low thermal and electrical conduction, its melting temperature is 1530 С°, it has high acidity (it is totally dissolved only in HF), the concentration of hydrogen ions in aqueous soliquid (PH) 8,5 is 10,0; the material is hydrophobic. The other name for talc widely used in technical literature is STEATITE.
Ore containing talc is mined in the quarries of the industrial complex. The ore is crushed, is then refined by means of flotation (depending on the talk sort), undergoes the thickening procedure, is packaged and after that final produce is shipped to the customer.
The characteristic feature and unique technology of our production process is the FLOTATION (enhancement) of the talc ore. Thanks to this method deeper refinement of the original raw material is achieved as well as stable homogeneous physical-chemical composition of the final produce. Talc homogeneity and degree of refinement have crucial influence on the quality of its applications in different industries. That is the reason why the majority of enterprises committed to the high quality of their production are the customers of JSC "Shabrovski Group of Talcmines".
We have hygienic, quality and radioactive safety certificates for the whole range of our production. |
LIST OF PRODUCTS AND MAIN SPHERES OF ITS APPLICATION
Below you will find kinds and sorts of goods produced by "Shabrovski Group of Talcmines". A list of applications of every kind of talc and microtalc is given in the column 'Sphere of application'. As the volume of talc consumption is constantly increasing and ways of its application are expanding, the list of ways of applications is just exemplary, describing the most widely-spread kinds of application only. To identify the sort of talc suitable for your production process use
physical-chemical parameters and consult our specialists(see Contacts).

The main consumers of talc and microtalc in Russia and CIS countries are plants and factories producing rubber, caoutchouc, plastics, vanish and paint, roofing, ceramics (ceramics, porcelain, faience) metallurgical plants, plants producing electrodes, tires, insulating materials, confectionery, pulp and paper, petrochemical, ore mining and processing enterprises, automobile and tractor producing plants, as well as industrial complexes producing building materials, household and industrial chemical goods: clues, putties, insecticides, pesticides, fertilizers, etc., agriculture and road building enterprises. However, this is not the whole range of industries consuming talc as at the present moment the sphere of its application is constantly modified and expanded
2. Fertilizers

|
Magnesite fertiliser |
TU 2189-00281950-001-99 |
Description: Magnesite is a natural magnesium fertilizer. It is an effective long-active fertilizer for acidic soils with low concentration of magnesium. It is characterized by high neutralizing ability, overbalancing the effect of limestone dust. It is used together with other fertilizers and soil liming. When magnesite is used, harvest increase is 20-40%. It contains soluble MgO - more than 20%, microelements: cobalt, copper, zinc, manganese, iron, as well as talk as a soil ripper. Magnesite is an equivalent substitute for magnesium sulfate, but in comparison to it, it does not acidate, but neutralizes the soil. When used, it increases preservation and quality of cultivated plants.
3. Mineral powder for road concrete mixes
|
|
| Mineral powder |
TU - 5716 - 008 - 00261950 - 2002
|
Description: mineral powder is used in production of road concrete mixes of different categories. As compared to all the previously used powders it has the following advantages: its more hydrophobic, is characterized by high bitumen absorption that allows its even distribution in bitumen. Application of this produce leads to higher density and homogeneity of asphalt concrete; it prevents moisture penetration, decreases water saturation that has a positive effect on the automobile road working life. Its usage in the asphalt concrete with the presence of clay particles is especially important. However this is not a complete list of mineral powder advantages. |
